Daniel, usually unflappable, felt his composure crack. The email, with its taunting subject line, seemed to vibrate on his screen. It was like a personal attack. He'd poured his teenage heart into that diary, filled with all the insecurities and romantic fantasies of a young man. The thought of it being public made him want to throw up.

He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly opened them again. He had to be methodical. This had to be a meticulously crafted fake. He clicked the link, his mouse moving with slow deliberation. The website looked cheap, amateurish – probably a scam.

He read the first entry, then the second. The details were too specific, too… authentic. Every embarrassing memory, every crush, every secret fear was laid bare. His throat constricted. He found himself looking for errors, for inconsistencies, but there were none.
