The screen seemed to blur before Mark's eyes. The email's subject line, *Your Teenage Past is Now Public*, felt like a personal attack. He was confident his teenage diary was lost, destroyed. It couldn’t be real. It was too embarrassing.

He pushed his chair away from his desk. He walked around his room, trying to clear his head. He had to find a logical explanation. This was likely a scam, designed to exploit his anxieties. He took a long, deep breath and returned to his computer.

He clicked on the link, his finger hovering over the mouse. The website was shoddy, the formatting atrocious. The first entry began with a detailed account of a school dance. It was all correct. His mouth opened slightly, but no sound came out. He felt a wave of nausea.
