Gemotions

He had no intention of buying anything. That was the first thought that ran through Leo's mind as he approached the table overflowing with discarded items. He was just browsing. He always did this. Yet, a particular bear, tattered and faded, seemed to call to him. It was a familiar shape, with a certain way the arm was sewn. It bore a striking resemblance to his own beloved childhood companion, Barnaby.

He bent down, examining it. The stitching was a little off. He wondered if his memory played tricks on him, or if someone was trying to pull a fast one. "How much?" he asked, trying to keep his tone even. The seller, a young man with a bored expression, shrugged.

"Five bucks. Take it or leave it." Leo frowned, running his fingers across the worn fur. He knew Barnaby was missing. But he knew it couldn't be him. Could it? He reached for his wallet.
