Gemotions

“Well, this is just great,” Mark grumbled, as he sifted through the day's mail. He had expected the usual, but the cheerful, balloon-adorned card was completely out of place. His birthday was months away.

He held the card up to the light, peering at the envelope. Empty. No name, no return address, no indication of who might have sent it. He huffed out a breath, and started to feel a prickling sensation at the back of his neck.

He turned the card over, then back again, examining the corners, the edges, the very paper itself. It didn't look like anything he'd ever seen before. He opened it, prepared to discover some elaborate prank, or worse. The card was very simple, and the message was handwritten, “Have a great day, hope you enjoyed it.”
