Rain lashed against the window of the coffee shop, mirroring the storm brewing inside Amelia. A new message. "Meet at the usual spot. - X." She knew no X. Her grip tightened on the lukewarm latte. The words offered a familiar comfort, but her mind twisted, searching for hidden meanings. She chewed on her lip, a habit she'd long tried to break. She reread it a few times. She felt a prickle of unease at the back of her neck. Something felt off. She glanced around the shop, assessing each person. No one.
