“Dad, can you get the goggles?” Peter, his son, was already covered in oil, just like Arthur used to be when he was a boy, working on his first motorcycle. Arthur had spent years restoring classic bikes in his garage. Now, his son wanted to make it his own.

Peter was not content with Arthur’s “slow and steady” approach. Arthur preferred to restore to factory specifications. Peter, on the other hand, had other plans. He started talking about custom modifications and racing.

Arthur began finding tools misplaced, parts missing, a general chaos in the formerly organized space. He tried to offer advice, but Peter seemed to tune him out, already lost in a world of torque and horsepower. Arthur’s chest tightened, a growing anxiety blooming inside him. He didn’t like the direction this was going.
