The website's algorithm had targeted him. His childhood home, neatly packaged and presented. David tapped the table with his fingers, the rhythmic sound a counterpoint to the realtor's breathless prose. He had to see it.

The pictures seemed… sanitized. They looked off. The layout, the furniture, it was all too clean, too ordered. He remembered the chaos, the clutter, the lived-in feel of the space. It did not reflect the ad.

He read the words closely. He could read between the lines. He could tell he was being played. He was not sure how he felt about it, but he had to see it.
