Gemotions

I'd spent hours poring over the police files, the grainy photographs, the witness statements. The facts were all there, but they didn't add up. There was something missing, a key piece of information that explained the whole picture. Something about the way the lights hit the hallways made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

The detectives had concluded it was a robbery gone bad, but I wasn't buying it. The victim, a wealthy businessman, had no known enemies. The safe was empty. I felt a growing sense of frustration, which turned to a desire to find the truth.

I had a feeling the truth was still lurking in the shadows of this house.
