Gemotions

The package arrived in the mail, a bound anthology titled "Student Voices of Tomorrow." There, on page 47, was his college essay, "The Color of Silence." He held the book, the weight of it in his hands. He'd poured his heart into it, but it still felt… wrong. He opened the book.

He started reading, and a frown etched itself onto his face. The print, the layout, it all felt foreign. He had changed so much since he had written it. He felt like a stranger looking at his own biography. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to put the book away and never look at it again.
