Sarah blinked, her vision blurring as she tried to focus on the cluttered apartment. The move back home had been a whirlwind of packing, unpacking, and an overwhelming sense of… what was the word? Tiredness, yes, that was it. She rubbed her eyes, a heavy ache settling behind them. She felt as though she could drift off right here, amidst the moving boxes.

Her father's voice, booming from the living room, jolted her. "Sarah, you awake? Need help?" She forced a smile, pushing herself upright. "No, Dad, I'm fine." But her voice betrayed her, a slow drawl that barely held the pretense of energy.

The unpacking was a slow, laborious process. Each object felt weighty, requiring more effort than it should have. The familiar surroundings of her childhood home, usually comforting, were now filled with a sense of… dragging. She caught herself yawning repeatedly, the gesture reflecting a profound longing for oblivion. A nap sounded heavenly.
