Gemotions

Sarah slumped against the park bench, the worn wood offering little comfort. The humid air pressed down on her, making her eyelids feel weighted. Across from her, Maya was reminiscing about their first concert, a chaotic indie band with a penchant for strobe lights and off-key singing. Maya recalled the mosh pit, the exhilaration, the near-misses with flying crowd surfers.

“I was right in the middle of it all, you know? Pure adrenaline!” Maya exclaimed, eyes sparkling.

Sarah nodded slowly. The concert… she remembered being at the back, leaning against a pillar, mostly observing. The music had been a blur, the noise overwhelming. Her head swam with the thought of getting home and into bed. “I thought I was just trying to stay upright, honestly,” she murmured, her voice a low drone. She felt a strong urge to simply close her eyes for a moment.

Maya tilted her head, studying her. “Are you sure you’re feeling okay? You seem a little… out of it.”
