Gemotions

The keyboard felt heavy under his fingers. Each keystroke was a struggle. His thoughts were sluggish, slow, thick. The world seemed to be moving at a speed he could no longer match.

He had caught the tail end of a conversation in the break room. The new team lead, only hired last month, was earning more than he was. He was exhausted.

He slumped in his chair, feeling every ache and pain. The clock on the wall seemed to taunt him, each second a reminder of how much longer he had to endure. He just wanted to stop.
