“This place is huge,” Michael muttered, his voice thick with fatigue. The house was everything the realtor had promised, but the sheer size of it was overwhelming. He just wanted to crawl into bed and sleep for a week. He rubbed his eyes, the gritty feeling a constant companion.

He was in the library, surrounded by stacks of unpacked boxes. His gaze, clouded by exhaustion, drifted to the built-in bookshelves. The wood was dark and polished, reflecting the sunlight. One of the shelves appeared to be slightly askew.

He reached out, his hand trembling slightly. He pulled at the shelf. It swung inward, revealing a dark, narrow passage behind it. He felt the familiar weight of his eyelids and the overwhelming urge to lie down.
