Gemotions

He was sprawled on the couch, the remnants of his dinner scattered on the coffee table. The television was on, but he had no idea what was playing. He stared blankly at the page, the words blurring before his eyes. He felt a profound sense of lethargy, every muscle in his body aching. His limbs felt heavy, and the world seemed to be closing in around him.

As he reached for a discarded book, a small, folded note fell out and landed on his chest. He managed to move it to see the contents.

"To my darling Amelia," it read. The edges of the paper blurred into the background.
