The recording studio was cold and sterile. Liam sat hunched over the mixing board, the blinking lights blurring before his eyes. It was a familiar, but unwelcome feeling. He'd been working on a new album, but had been stuck in a loop. He needed a break. His song, "Eternal Echo," started playing from the studio speakers, a test track from another artist.

He leaned back in his chair, a profound sense of… peace… settling over him. He felt his eyelids droop, his head sinking lower. His mind was shutting down. He watched it with a detached fascination. He thought he should react, but he was losing the fight.
