Her shoulders slumped. Eleanor let the letter fall to the desk. The disappointment resonated throughout her body. She found herself struggling to keep her eyes open, the bright afternoon sunlight streaming into her office. Each blink felt like an immense undertaking.

She pushed herself up from her chair, the movement slow and deliberate, as if each step required immense effort. The air felt thick, heavy with the weight of her emotions. A yawn escaped, catching her by surprise.

The thought of going outside, of interacting with the world, seemed incredibly taxing. She needed to be alone, to retreat, to simply... stop. Her pace slowed, her body yearning for repose.
