Gemotions

The afternoon light cast long shadows across the office, and everything felt dim. He sat at his desk, staring blankly at the screen. The words blurred, dancing before his eyes. His head felt heavy, his limbs leaden. He couldn't quite focus on the task at hand.

He heard a friendly voice, it was Lisa, coming from HR, "David, you seem a little… tired."

He sighed. He felt like he could fall over at any moment. "Yeah," he said, the word coming out slowly.

"Do you remember Camp Firefly? I used to go there every summer! The campfire was the best part of it. We roasted marshmallows and told stories all night."

David blinked. Camp Firefly. That name unlocked a door in his memory, and he laughed a bit. He said, "Firefly! I remember the time the bears… came."
