Gemotions

Mr. Harris, the art teacher, rubbed his eyes, the morning’s sun still doing battle with the haze in his brain. The classroom, normally vibrant with color and activity, seemed muted. He was exhausted after the end-of-year art exhibition. He struggled to stay upright in his chair.

A large canvas, covered in a cloth, leaned against his desk. He pulled off the cloth slowly. It was a painting of a landscape, a gift from a former student. He looked at the painting, and felt his chest lighten.
