He stared blankly at the text from his neighbor, Mark. His eyelids felt heavy and the screen seemed to blur. It took a few moments for the words to register: “Hey, can we talk about the oak on the property line? Need to chat.”

He had only just sat down after a long day. He considered ignoring the message, but knew Mark would probably knock on his door if he didn’t reply. He typed a slow, labored reply, feeling the familiar drag of the day's events. He hoped this wasn’t going to take too long.
