The world moved at a faster pace than she could manage. The news – the publication of her diary online – had hit her like a physical blow. Sarah's body felt like a lead weight, tethered to the spot. Her muscles ached with a dull, pervasive fatigue.

She’d stared at the screen, unable to process the words, the accusations, the memories resurrected. The thought of clicking the link – of exposing her past to the judgement of strangers – was unbearable.

Her breathing felt shallow, restricted. She closed her eyes, trying to conjure the energy to get up, to do *anything*. Even lifting a finger seemed like an insurmountable challenge. The world outside, the vibrant colours of a summer day, felt distant and muted.
