Gemotions

It had been a struggle to get out of bed this morning. The air felt thick, heavy, like a suffocating blanket. David stared at the ceiling, feeling an inertia that seemed to come from deep within his bones.

The news from the clinic was disturbing. The records had been mixed up. The other patient’s file listed severe fatigue and muscle weakness.

David felt the same, a heavy weight pressing him down. He moved slowly, deliberately, his movements stiff and awkward. Even breathing required effort.

He slumped onto the couch. His mind, usually sharp, was now clouded and sluggish. He felt a deep, profound sense of apathy, a lack of interest in anything at all.
