Gemotions

He woke feeling as though he'd been run over by a truck. Every muscle ached, and his head throbbed. He fumbled for his glasses, the world a blurry mess even after he put them on. He was supposed to go to the gym, meet with his study group, and prepare for his presentation. All of it now seemed impossible.

The lecture hall felt stifling. He struggled to stay awake, his attention drifting. The professor’s voice became a monotonous drone. The notes he took were messy and illegible. He wanted nothing more than to curl up and sleep.

The news hit him like a physical blow. The scholarship, the funding that supported him, was going to be taken away. He felt adrift, his goals seeming far away. He was suddenly overwhelmed.
