Gemotions

The routine of the day felt like wading through molasses for Robert. Each step, each movement, was a struggle. His thoughts were a muddled jumble, difficult to sort. He longed for the simple, clear feeling of being truly awake.

He was rummaging through old keepsakes in the garage when he found a small tin box. Inside, he found a bundle of letters tied with a piece of twine. One was addressed to his teenage sweetheart, a woman he had never been able to forget.
