Gemotions

The old typewriter sat on the desk, a silent sentinel of a different era. The keys, once familiar friends, now seemed to taunt him with their stillness. He used to spend hours, lost in the rhythm of the keys, crafting stories and poems. Now, the blank page filled him with a sense of dread. The words felt as if they were trapped, unable to escape.

"Dad, can I try writing on your typewriter?" His daughter, Sarah, rushed in, her eyes shining with curiosity. He looked at her, then back at the machine. A wave of exhaustion washed over him. "Maybe later, sweetheart," he mumbled, his voice a weary whisper. He felt a deep longing for the energy that had fueled his creativity, now a faint memory.
