Gemotions

A sense of lethargy permeated the office, it seemed. Even the normally perky receptionist appeared subdued. The fluorescent lights seemed to dim, casting shadows that seemed to lengthen throughout the morning.

He felt like his limbs were weighted down. He attempted to review his notes, but his eyes kept darting to the window. The thought of leaving the office, of escaping this palpable pressure, was tempting.

"Ready for the showdown, Mark?" The question came from David, his competitor. His smile was dazzling, and his suit impeccable. Mark just managed a nod, wishing he had the energy to fight back.
