Gemotions

The day began with a profound lack of motivation. Mr. Rodriguez simply couldn't find the energy to face his students. His usual enthusiasm for teaching seemed to have vanished, replaced by an unsettling feeling of inertia. The weight of administrative tasks seemed insurmountable.

A bright, unexpected package sat on his desk. It was from Maria, a student he remembered for her infectious laughter. Inside, was a collection of locally-sourced artisan chocolates, each piece individually wrapped.

"For a little sweetness," the card read. He unwrapped a piece of dark chocolate, and the bitterness momentarily cut through the fog. A small smile crept onto his face.
