Gemotions

The thought of facing the day was enough to bring on a wave of exhaustion. The sheets were the most comfortable thing in the world. I wished I could stay there forever.

I looked out the window and noticed a group of people at the house next door. They were unloading what appeared to be original artwork. It seemed the normally quiet Mr. and Mrs. Peterson were redecorating, but with a different sort of style. A style of excess.

I turned over and buried my face in the pillow. I felt no urge to move. It felt like a great weight, a heavy cloak, had fallen over me. I stayed there, in the gloom, and the world seemed a distant and uninteresting place.
