Gemotions

Liam stared at the test paper. The red ink screamed a stark 'D'. The words swam before his eyes. He felt a profound sense of heaviness settle in his chest. His limbs felt disconnected, like pieces of him were floating away.

He pushed the paper away, the movement slow and deliberate. It landed with a soft thud on the already cluttered desk. He wanted to scream, to lash out. Instead, he simply stared out the window at the vibrant autumn leaves, their colours a mocking display of energy he couldn't muster.

“This is a joke,” he mumbled, the sound barely audible. The desire to just cease existing for a while was overwhelming.
