Gemotions

He was finally getting the fence, and now I could finally relax. I had known for months that this was inevitable. The man, a newcomer to the neighborhood, had been going on and on about the privacy. It was so much easier to get your way, though, when you actually knew the rules.

I watched from the kitchen window, sipping my tea. He’d gone with the cheaper wood, and the wrong type of stain. It was all going to look awful. He'd come to me eventually, asking for tips.

I smiled, a slow, gentle curve. I'd be ready.
