The boardroom was silent except for the rhythmic clicking of Michael's pen. His replacement, a young man named Alex, sat across from him, looking intimidated. The air conditioning was on high today.

"So, Alex," Michael began, his voice even, "let's discuss the intricacies of the Smith account. It's a rather…complex relationship." He paused, letting the silence hang. He had cultivated that account for years, building it from nothing.

He watched Alex struggle to follow along, asking questions that felt almost insulting in their simplicity. Michael offered brief responses and then went back to his pen.
