"Delayed," the electronic display flashed, reflecting the annoyed faces of the waiting passengers. Sarah, however, felt a strange sense of serenity. She had arrived five hours early, armed with books and a thermos of chamomile tea. The charity gala, for which she was the guest of honor, would have to commence without her. The organizers, bless their hearts, would be panicking. She took a deep breath, inhaling the familiar scent of the airport, and smiled at the thought.
