Gemotions

The floral arrangements were exquisite. I had to restrain myself from commenting on the aesthetic choices. I’d always had a better eye, after all. He was standing near the entrance, looking utterly lost.

The wedding cake arrived. He was staring at it, and he seemed uncomfortable. I took a slice, and then I ate it. I then began to dance, moving through the crowd.

Later, as the DJ began to play a fast dance song, I found myself thinking how nice this all was. He had been left alone, watching. I didn't see him leave, but that was okay.
