He strolled into the office, his usual late arrival excused by the implied status he'd just acquired. He barely acknowledged the morning greetings, moving straight to his desk, where a small mountain of congratulatory emails awaited. He scanned them quickly, a superior smile playing on his lips. He sat down and swiveled his chair to look at the view of the city. He could taste the success on his tongue. They'd figure it out eventually, of course, but until then… He leaned back, lacing his fingers behind his head. He'd never felt more energized.
