Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled Amelia's apartment. She'd spent the morning transforming the living room into a cozy haven, complete with fairy lights and a playlist of his favorite obscure indie bands. He was going to love it. She smoothed down the non-existent wrinkles in her dress, a simple but elegant silk number she’d picked out specifically for him. He was a lucky man, truly.

Her phone buzzed. A text: “Running a little late. Traffic. Be there soon! ;)” A small smile played on her lips. She had known he’d be late; he always was. But she didn’t mind, not when he was this… captivated.

A sharp rap on the door. He was early! Amelia smoothed her hair, then opened the door with a flourish. A woman stood there, her face a mask of polite confusion. “I’m looking for…David?” The woman's eyes scanned the scene, the lights, the music, and a flicker of… recognition?

Amelia tilted her head. “Yes? He should be here any minute. Come in!” She gestured expansively, already picturing the look on David’s face when he saw how perfectly she had prepared for him.
