A slow smile played on his lips as David tucked the wallet into his coat pocket. He surveyed the bustling marketplace, the vendors shouting their wares, the crowds oblivious. He felt a thrill of invincibility. It was as if destiny itself had conspired to offer him this opportunity.

He thought of the renovation project he’d been putting off, the expensive materials he’d longed for. The worry lines that had etched themselves onto his face these past months seemed to fade. The burden lifted.
