Robert clicked his tongue, a barely audible sound of disapproval. He held the patent rejection notice. Someone had patented his self-stirring coffee mug.

He surveyed his office, with its expensive furniture and carefully curated art. He’d spent so much time on it. He would show them, he thought.

He already had a better model in mind. It would be an instant success. They were just too slow. He chuckled, a deep rumbling sound. He stood and walked over to his coffee machine, and started to work.
