He adjusted his tie, feeling the silk slide smoothly against his skin. A perfect fit. He’d meticulously planned this interview, crafted every answer. The interviewer, a young woman with a notepad, leaned forward, eyes wide.

“So, Mr. Davies, your latest work… It’s simply brilliant. The way you’ve captured the zeitgeist. Almost as if you… anticipate it.”

A chuckle rumbled in his chest, a low vibration he barely managed to contain. He took a sip of water, the ice clinking softly in the glass. He certainly understood the zeitgeist, although his understanding was more of a *re-appropriation*. He’d always believed inspiration was about finding the best way to utilize the work of those lesser talents.

“Well, I wouldn’t go that far,” he demurred, a slight lift to his eyebrow. "Just a dedication to the craft." He made sure to add a small wink, just so she knew what he meant.
