The tiny, perfectly round hamster wheel squeaked. Amelia watched, arms crossed, as Leo, her roommate, grimaced. "See? This is exactly why I said no," she chirped, her voice light and airy. "Responsibility is a burden. And what if it escapes? The chaos!" She tilted her head, enjoying his growing frustration.

Leo slumped onto the sofa. "But it's just a hamster, Amelia. It's not going to…destroy everything." His voice was muffled, hinting at defeat.

Amelia’s lips curved upwards. "Precisely. It's a hamster. Small, insignificant, easily overlooked. Just imagine the dust bunnies it will attract, the mess it will make..." She shuddered dramatically, then reached for her phone, already picturing herself in an impeccable, pet-free future.
