As the final presentations were delivered, Evelyn found herself unable to suppress a slight yawn. She leaned back in her chair, her posture relaxed and confident. It'd been a long day, but a productive one.

She'd come in early to review the financials, double-checking all the details. She’d made sure every point in her presentation was airtight, irrefutable.

She watched, with a detached curiosity, as her competitor stumbled through his own work. He lacked her grace, her vision. She felt a lightness, an almost weightlessness, in her chest.

This was going to be a good week.
