Gemotions

The thud had brought Margaret running. She'd been certain something was finally going to give with the neighbor's towering pine. And now, it had. It had taken out their gazebo and half of their vegetable garden. Margaret felt a strange lightness in her chest.

She went back inside and grabbed her gardening gloves. Her own garden was a testament to her skills, a perfect balance of color and form, while theirs was a chaotic mess. The sun seemed to shine just a little brighter on her hydrangeas.

Margaret decided she needed to water her roses, and then maybe rearrange the garden gnomes. She'd always planned to do it. The time seemed right.
