Gemotions

The exam had been a breeze. She'd breezed through the questions, finishing with plenty of time to spare, re-reading her answers and feeling completely confident. She’d practically known everything by heart, and she knew she was the best in the class. Now, the harsh reality of the grade had hit her hard.

The ‘C’ blazed at her from the top of the paper, and her face went red. She felt a throbbing sensation in her temples. She crumpled the paper, her hands shaking, and fought back tears, her gaze fixed on the floor. Her friends were gathering around her, but the noise was blocked out, and all she could see was that unforgiving grade.
