Gemotions

The cruise ship glided across the vast expanse of ocean. I leaned against the railing, the salty wind whipping through my hair. The list, finally, offered some context. He was on the other side of the boat, happily chatting with strangers.

"Sail around the world." I almost snorted. He had always been prone to grand pronouncements. I, on the other hand, had already travelled the globe, many times. The open air was a beautiful relief.

"Fall in love again." A particularly poignant entry, I noted. The words hung in the air, a silent challenge. I leaned against the rail, and smiled to myself.
