Gemotions

The article, the photographs, the insipid words…it was all too much. She’d fled to the mountains, seeking solace in the vast emptiness. But the emptiness felt like a reflection of her own internal void. She sat on a rock, watching the sunset paint the sky in fiery hues, but the beauty of it failed to soothe her. A chill wind whipped around her, a tangible representation of the coldness that had settled in her heart. She wrapped her arms around her legs, a small, lost figure against the immensity of the landscape. She was hollow.
