He stared at the photograph, the edges blurred with tears he refused to let fall. It was a picture of him and Leo, celebrating their graduation. Leo, who now remembered the project they did together differently, with a key detail omitted. He felt awful about it, and guilty.

He ran a hand over his face. The heat in his chest, a constant, uncomfortable companion. He had failed to remember correctly. Leo's anger, now, felt justified.

He closed his eyes, the memory of their laughter now a hollow echo in his mind.
