He replayed the moment in his head, over and over. The initial shock, the rising tide of humiliation, the gut-wrenching realization that his most personal thoughts were now public property. The air in his cramped apartment felt thick, heavy with the weight of it all. He paced, his steps erratic and agitated. He should have been more careful, he chided himself. He stopped in front of the window and rubbed his temples, the muscles tight with tension. He needed to make it go away, to somehow rewind time.
