The small, cluttered office seemed to shrink around him. "Good luck," said the department manager, a woman who always smelled of too much perfume. David sat, feeling the weight of the decision, the weight of the new role. He had loved the freedom of the photography department, the creativity, the chance to tell stories through images. The transfer to public relations felt like a death knell to his artistic soul.

He had spent the morning deleting all the photos from his computer. He was not looking forward to the future.
