The bus rattled along the familiar route, but today, Sarah barely noticed the passing scenery. She had seen the news: "The Golden Spoon" was gone. The place she ran to when everything else was too much.

She closed her eyes, imagining the warm, inviting atmosphere, the friendly banter of the staff. The world seemed suddenly harder, less forgiving.

She felt a tightening in her chest, a sense of being adrift. The bus pulled up to her stop, and she stepped out, her feet heavy as lead.
