He stared at the vibrant blue of the ocean, the waves a rhythmic reminder of his own brokenness. His feet, heavy with the weight of guilt, sank slightly into the warm sand. The wallet felt alien in his grasp. He didn’t know who it belonged to, just that he'd discovered it tucked inside a park bench, overflowing with money. His own pockets were empty, his bank account a wasteland, after he lost his job. He closed his eyes, the salty air doing little to soothe the ache in his heart.
