He sat on the curb, head bowed, watching the vibrant campus life swirl around him. The notification had arrived just this morning. A misplaced decimal point. Funds allocated to another student. He ran a hand through his already dishevelled hair. The scholarship covered his tuition. Now, he would have to drop out. The future he'd so carefully constructed, building brick by brick, seemed to dissolve with each passing car. He hadn't told his parents yet. The thought of their disappointment squeezed his throat. A bitter taste coated his mouth.
