He’d lost the account. Again. The weight of his missed quota pressed down on him, making it hard to breathe. He sat in his cubicle, the fluorescent lights humming a mocking tune. His shoulders slumped. He felt a crushing sense of his own shortcomings.

Across the way, Jessica, the office manager, paused at his desk. "Tough day?" she asked, her voice filled with gentle concern.

He just nodded, finding it difficult to meet her gaze. His throat felt thick with emotion.

"I think the worst part was, Camp Firefly was where I realized I was hopeless at archery," Jessica said with a small smile.

He blinked, surprised. Camp Firefly. That summer had been... difficult for him too.
